Ouch.... Thats gonna hurt tomorow!
Decided to go off in search of some rails from our house today so headed
off to Tre\'r Ddol and tried to follow a bridle path from there which was a
mistake... I certainly couldn\'t ride up it and won\'t be able to for a
while, it was steep, mussy, wet, slippery and rocky too so I ended up
pushing for quite a way. The view from the top back down to Borth and
Aberdovey made it all worthwhile though and I could see you tow Cadair
Idris too.
From here I made a tricky, descent over loose rocks to the long uphill
road that goes from Talybont to Nant-y-Moch, and started the long slog to
the top. At the top I headed off onto the forest tracks towards Anglers
Retreat and then back up and followed a really nice forest track that
contours around the top of Moel y Llyn which at times feels as though you
are on top of the world, before plunging down toards Artists valley on nice
fast forest tracks. Towards the bottom of Artists valley I headed off onto
a nice rocky and muddy path (after taken a little detour along the wrong
road), then down through some farmyards, and onto a noce little bit of
single track, past a few jumps ramps that people have built and back onto
the main road at Tre\'r Ddol.. Lovely, although by the time I\'d made the
long flat trip from there back to the house my legs had had enough for a
day, and will no doubt be sore tomorrow. 40km in total and 3hrs 40 mins.
